BOURBON breaks new ground in terms of relations with schools by organizing the first visits and meetings with students in the Merchant Navy Schools and preparatory classes in France.
BOURBON becomes a partner of the Marseilles Merchant Navy School.
BOURBON sponsors the student gala of the Merchant Navy Schools of Marseilles and Le Havre.

BOURBON sponsors the Hydro’s Cup, an annual regatta held by the students of the Marseilles Merchant Navy School, for the first year.

BOURBON becomes the sponsor of the students of the Le Havre Merchant Navy School at the Edhec Cruise Race, an international sailing regatta, which attracts more than 165 student, amateur and professional crews every year in April.
The Crew Manager of Bourbon Offshore Surf, is named Sponsor of the 2003/2004 "Corto Maltese" class of the Nantes Merchant Navy School.

BOURBON helps to open the first certified training center in France for operators of the Dynamic Positioning System in the Marseilles Merchant Navy School.

BOURBON contacts international schools and holds the first meetings with the students of the Maritime Academy of the Philippines (Philippines Merchant Marine Academy).

BOURBON develops relationships with international marine schools and signs a partnership agreement with Aalesund University College in Norway.
Since 2006, BOURBON's financial support has enabled the students of the Marseilles Merchant Navy School to commit a sail boat with a crew made up exclusively of students, for the Hydro's Cup regatta.
The Crew Manager for Bourbon Offshore Surf at the time, sponsors the 2006/2007 class of the Kersa marine preparatory school in Paimpol.

BOURBON inaugurates the first training center in France equipped with an AHTS simulator in order to provide employees working at sea with some theoretical and practical knowledge of anchor handling operations. This training center, which is called the "BOURBON Training Center," is located on the premises of the Marseilles National Merchant Navy School. It has been part of the strong partnership between BOURBON and the 4 Merchant Navy Schools, including the Marseilles school, since 2001.
BOURBON visits the marine schools of Singapore (the Singapore Maritime Academy and Singapore Polytechnic).
BOURBON becomes a member of the Partners' Club and the Corporate Network of Euromed Management Marseilles.
The Assistant to the Bourbon Offshore Surf Crew Manager, is named Godmother of the "Orca" class of 2007/2008 of the Marseilles Merchant Navy School.

BOURBON develops relationships with international marine schools and holds meetings with students to promote the professions in the marine services sector, introduce the group, its activities and its job opportunities in China (the Ningbo Maritime School and Shanghai Maritime University), in India, Burma (Myanmar Maritime University), Belgium (Antwerp Maritime Academy) and Tunisia (Académie Navale Tunisienne [the Tunisian Naval Academy]).
For the first time, the Hydro’s Cup regatta, which has been sponsored by BOURBON since 2002, invites students from an international marine school, the Hamburg Maritime Academy.
